Together In Hope Choir Stranger Project

The Together In Hope Choir will perform the Sing Democracy 250 program in four major cities:  the world premiere in Philadelphia in 2025, and New York, Minneapolis/Saint Paul, and Washington, DC in 2026. The choir is noted for its artistically excellent and spiritually moving performances of “music with a purpose”.  To date, it has delivered two major projects on the world stage: the first focused on reconciliation in the world Christian community in connection with the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, with programs delivered in Rome and the United States in 2018-2019.  The second focused on raising awareness about refugees and displaced persons, in partnership with USA for UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency), with performances in Norway and the United States in 2022.

Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway

“The extraordinary concert I attended last night and Kim André Arnesen’s musical work ‘The Stranger’ reminded us about everything we have in common as human beings in a global community. The concert made a deep impression on me, and I hope that we will all keep this in our hearts that there is more to connect us than to divide us as human beings, no matter where we live and who we are.”

Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway

“This was the best concert I have heard in 50 years, not just because the music was excellent, but because the singers believe what they were singing.”

Dr. Hans-Albert Courtial, Founder of 2018 International Festival of Sacred Music and Art

“This is the best concert I have ever experienced in the Nidaros Cathedral. And I have been to so many over so many decades. No concert has ever moved me as much as this one.”

Gunnar Flikke, the former chief editor of the Trondheim region’s largest newspaper, Adresseavisen

  • “Beautiful melodies, beautiful sounds, beautiful textures… the choir shows how insanely good they are. Both the choir and the musicians delivered in the highest class.”

A reporter for Under Dusken, the student newspaper in Trondheim, Norway

  • "The cause was such an important one, and the concert was so well done. The words themselves were powerful. Added to the excellent music performed by excellent musicians, it really made a strong statement. I saw many tears in the audience's faces, including my own… This concert touched many lives. Thank you."

    LG, concert attendee

  • "It is my joy and belief that all who were a part of this journey were delivered far from our previous assumptions and comfortable notions, and are spurred to create a better world, one where all are welcome and can gather, just as we are, Together in Hope."
